Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in Texas

Apartment Lease

I currently live in a apartment and i am paying month to month. My issue is when i went to the leasing office to inform them i was moving they said i would still be obligated for next month's rent. Told me if i moved a eviction would be set in motion. Is there away around this with out receiving a eviction?

Re: Apartment Lease

A month-to-month tenancy requires a 30 day notice which covers to the end of the next rental period. You might as well give them the 30 day notice, pay the October rent, and delay your move-out until the end of October.
