I've never heard of this. You need a lawyer who has handled personal injury claims to do this for you. I've been doing this sort of work for 23 years and represent clients throughout Texas. Let me know if I can help you.

You definitely shouldn't let the company handle it for you and hire your own counsel.

Your company cannot represent you because that would be an unauthorized practice of law. They are taking you for a ride. They just want more money paid for the trailer, minimize your lost time. get you to their doctor who will say you have fully recovered-though you have not, and recover a larger percentage of the settlement for them. They do not want to be in litigation and will push a small amount for your claim to avoid it.

Go to your doctor, not theirs, even if you have to pay yourself. Get your own lawyer, someone you trust.
