House flooded with sewer

Our house and the house across the street was flooded by sewer. the city found the problem was caused by a contractor clearing trees on private land had crushed a sewer manhole. now no one wants to take responsibility for the damage. what do we do?

you should consult an experienced attorney to evaluate whether you have sufficient facts to justify a lawsuit against the city and/or the contractor.

many cities have a time limit in which a written notice of a claim should be sent to the city before a lawsuit is filed. therefore you should seek an opinion from an attorney as soon as possible.
