Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Texas

Early termination of a lease

I turned in a notice to vacate three months ago. A while later, I changed my mind and went to retract the notice. I was told, however, that my apartment had been leased and I would have to be out. After I moved out of the apartment I was told the because the people who were supposed to move in decided not to, I was still responsilble for the remainder of my lease. They told me I had to be out and are now saying that I am still responsible for the lease because some other person changed their mind about moving in.

Re: Early termination of a lease

You should find an attorney close to you and discuss the matter. These types of things might be negotiated or litigated or simply reported to a credit bureau. You will need to determine what level of action is cost effective for you.
