Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Texas

Foundation Problem

Bought a home in January 2006, home was originally built in 2001. Have noticed over the last 6 months that we have started to get cracks in our house. I thought they was just settling cracks and thought nothing about it. Now I shingles pushing up and I have a golfball size hole in my attic. Went to the Warranty company because the home should have been under a 10 year structural warranty. They sent out a ''outside engineer'' and have now replied saying that if we install Rain gutters and fix the grade on the outside of the right side of our house that ''magically'' my house will fix itself.

Needless to say our house drops diagonally 5 1/2 inches from the back to the garage. I don't think a house should drop even an inch, much less 5 1/2 inches over just 8 years.

I live in the Dallas Fort Worth area.

What should I do? Get a lawyer? Get another engineer to inspect?

Re: Foundation Problem

Get a real engineer (with good references) who works for you to write a report. Then, if you don't get satisfaction, call a lawyer.
