Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Texas

My father passed away without a will, he had no property, no major assets, very little cash in social security account. He was a hoarder, so I tried contacting siblings to help with this inmense task, they didn't want to, he said he didn't want anything to do with him or want anything any money, I was pushed away several times, so I was left to do this by myself. According to rumor, they believe I found a lot of money, I only found $800 dls. dating from 1998, 1999. So my question would be, they want know probate court, his estate is worth less than $6,000. My fathers wishes pay my bills, pay moms funeral expenses and the rest give it to grandchildren. Don't they have to respect what he wanted? As his POA I have fulfilled his wishes. I don't think we need probate court, what do I do?

First you need to understand that any Power of Attornery terminates upon death. You need authorization from the probate court to do anything with his money. Suggest you see a local attorney. Make an inventory of your dad's assets and how you figured out the value of his estate. Calculate the expenses you paid funeral costs, your costs in going through the estate.
