I recently established a variable annuity for retirement and named 2 beneficiaries. Can i instruct the beneficiaries on how to use the funds, in a future will?

Re: Variable annuities and wills

Usually, when you designate a human beneficiary in a policy, there isn't a whole lot you can do after the policy vests. You can tell them what to do, but there is no guarentee that they will do so.

If you want conditions, you can designate either a specially created trust or your estate as the beneficiary of the policy and then place restrictions in the trust or a will accordingly.
