Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Texas

my wifes mother passed on sat morning.she has 4 girs 3 of the girls went to the house and cleaned it out.the will states that every thing must be sold and the money split 4 ways.the will does not have person to over see every thing. it has not even been probated.they went hours after her passing and cleaned it out. how can they do this and get away with it.

The property that was taken belongs to your mother in law's estate and should not have been removed unless all of the potential beneficiaries agreed. Personal property unless it is collectable is generally not worth a great deal of money. It mostly has sentimental value. In other words, not generally worth spending a great deal of money fighting about.

There may be bigger problems if the will does not name an executor. You or your wife should go directly to an experienced probate attorney for some advice.
