Legal Question in Construction Law in Turks and Caicos Islands

Construction liens

We provided product to a project in Turks & Caicos. The customer is hotel developer, an LLC based in T&C. The LLC is a JV of 2 individuals and a corporation that is based in Miami.

There is balance due on product shipped.

Can we file lien on property? If so, how?

Any other recourses against US corporation or individuals that own JV?

Unless the contract to provide the product gives NY jurisdiction, you would not be able to litigate in this State. You would have to litigate either in FL or T&C.

In terms of filing a lien, you would have to contact a T&C attorney - since a lien only affects the location of the real property.
