Legal Question in Bankruptcy in Utah

boyfriend's bankruptcy

hi,

My boyfriend is considering filing bankruptcy. He really has no other alternative as he owes about seventy thousand dollars in credit debt and loans. I have ''A'' credit, and I am wondering if the bankruptcy would affect me if we ever got married. Assuming, of course, the bankruptcy was filed before we got married. Not to sound too materialistic, but I want to know what I am getting myself into.

Thank you,

Sarah

Re: boyfriend's bankruptcy

As long as you keep your credit clean you should not have a problem with your credit being damaged by his. You may want to get a clear understanding of why his financial circumstances got out of hand. Also be wary about allowing him to share a credit card or credit line with you. That could affect you.
