Legal Question in Traffic Law in Utah

I was told that I needed to move my car so that my apartment complex could repave the parking lot, I moved it down the road from where I live and left it for two days (that was the legnth of time we were given by our apt.'s) I went to get my car on June 10th and the battery was dead and I had a notice on my car from the ninth that I had 7 days to move my car. I returned on the 15th to jump my car and it had been towed. I was told that the notice should have only been for 48 hrs and so another officer returned and tagged it for 48 hrs and apparently attempted to call me and let me know. My phone number has been the same for over four years and I never recieved a message or phone call. I cannot afford the impound fees of almost 300 dollars and don't believe that I should be forced to pay them. I understand that I will have to pay them to get my car but I would like to know if I have recourse to et my 300 dollars back if i take it to court. Thank you

You can take your case to small claims court and explain to the court the details.
