Filing Bankruptcy due to being Bipolar

Can someone file Bankruptcy for charged off credit due to being severe BiPolar? This friend has seen a pyschiatrist for the past 6 years and is on all kinds of meds for Bipolar. Her credit rating is shot. Please respond

You raise an interesting question re: capacity to contract. Generally, any one may petition for bankruptcy relief. Relief may be granted by the court. As a first step, suggest that your friend visit a bankruptcy attorney to determine if she will meet the requirements to file a bankruptcy.
