Legal Question in Civil Rights Law in Virginia

Credit reporting after chapter 7

Filed for chapter 7 in Sept. 2002, discharged in Jan. 2003. Home was listed in the bankruptcy, laid off and could not pay for it. Can the loan company that financed the house keep reporting ''late payments'' on credit report.(They list late payments several times on credit report during 2003)

No payments were made after filing chapter 7. Was foreclosed after discharge of bankruptcy.

Re: Credit reporting after chapter 7

The "late payments" cannot be legally reported after the bankruptcy unless the debt was reaffirmed in the bankruptcy case.
