Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Virginia

If I have a collection that is now subrogated can I legally get that collection removed from my credit report?

I was in an accident two years ago. My attorney sent the notices to hold the account a day late leading the medical company to put my accounts in collections and further receiving a judgement. Fast forward 2 years and now I am trying to buy a home. This judgement shows on my credit report lowering my score. The attorney has paid the judgement and is subrogating the debt to the person who caused the accident or there insurance company. Now that this debt has been subrogated and determined that the debt is not my responsibility should this negative be removed from my credit?

No, not necessarily, but you could request your judgment creditor (the

medical company) to have it removed or if it declines your request, you

could at least send your 250 word statement of explanation to the credit

reporting company with your request that it be included in your report.
