Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Virginia

I have a medical judgment of $22,000 and one for $3,000 in the state of Virginia in the year 2013 from when I had a heart attack. I now live in another state. I don't have the funds to pay these in full. Should I ask to settle for a lesser amount, Do I need a lawyer since its a lot of money?

I see no problem in making inquiry as to a possible settlement of these debts as long as you can

do so without revealing information to your judgment creditor(s) that could facilitate the

enforcement of these judgments such as your location in this other state.

And, yes, you may at least wish to arrange for a consultation with a local attorney who has

appropriate experience with such matters. (Your local bar association could probably

provide you a few names and contact information for such individuals.)
