Legal Question in Criminal Law in Virginia

Request Release from Probation

Is there a way to ask for early release from federal probation? I received 5 years of probation, a fine and ordered to reimburse government. I paid my fine, judge dropped the requirement for government reimbursement. I do not have to do drug testing, all I am required to do is send report in each month, and report my income. I have already served one year, the offense was a misdemeanor, very minor and plea agreement with us attorney was for no more than 6 months probation and no fine or restitution. Judge disregarded. I would like to know if there is a form or a letter to write to someone to request early release. Thanks for your help

Re: Request Release from Probation

You should take the matter up with the attorney who presumably represented you in this matter and request that he or she initiate the appropriate action to have the probation terminated(either via a letter to the judge or by way of a formal motion).
