Legal Question in Family Law in Virginia

My family lived with a man for approximately 8 years. My mother and him were never married. After awhile, they were not together. However, he continued living with us due him not being to work from an accident. Now, this year, he has receive his compensation. He left our home three months ago. Now, he is suing us for our home, a trailer that my mother paid the majority of, and a car my mother paid the majority of. He also is suing for supposedly raising me my siblings. However, my mother has always worked and receive food stamps for us. And for the last three years, my mother had sustained him because he could not work. What should we do?

Assuming your mother cannot afford to hire an attorney to represent her, I would recommend that

she contact the legal services provider in your area to determine whether they might be

able to assist her with a lawyer at little or no cost to her to represent her in this matter.
