Legal Question in Family Law in Virginia

I have filed for a change of venue in my childrens cases in roanoke va because we moved to west va over 2 years ago.the juvenile judge kept it in va so i filed an appeal which the higher judge said yes because he said something about a va code that stated after 6 months of a child living out of roanoke city the court had to tranfer the case, they have no choice but to transfer it.well then father filed an appeal to court of appeals in richmond va and i needed to know what code this was that the judge was talking about so i can send it to the court of appeals.

After the children had resided in West Virginia for at least six months,

you could simply have filed your petition in that state for custody instead of

getting yourself tangled up in an appellate process in Virginia.

( See Va. Code Sec. 20-146.15 and related statutes.)
