Legal Question in Family Law in Virginia

My husband deserted me, how do I divorce him for little money in Virginia? I want to break the lease, and move back to my home state, but he will not give me any money towards rent or anything! We have no kids. Just a dog and an apartment lease. Can the landlord go after HIM specifically for half the rent, or will it all fall on me?

If you and your husband are both on the apartment lease, the landlord can pursue one or both of you for the full amount due.
