Legal Question in Family Law in Virginia

Recinding adoptions

I am an adult who was adopted twice by step-fathers. I have since changed my last name to my birth name. I truly would like to have my birth certificate also state my birth name. I would like to know how to recind all adoptions and restore my original birth certificate. I was born in Montana, adopted in both Alaska and Illinois. I've had no luck trying to look up this information in the VA codes. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Re: Recinding adoptions

As an adult, you can petition the circuit court to change your name to any name you wish as long as it's not for the purpose of defrauding or misleading creditors or for any other illegal purposes.

As for your idea of rescinding all of your previous adoptions, you can forget it; it's simply not going to happen.
