Legal Question in Family Law in Virginia

Is a signed written statement saying you will return with the kids by xx date, legal binding to use in court?

(going on vacation home with kids and still legally married and living in the same house... wont let me leave without a signed written statement... And I dont want to give them something to use against me in court; if i decide to stay for the best interest of my kids and myself)
