Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Virginia

costly mistake

i wrote last week that i had a large tract of property and the adjoining property owners were against a gravel and sand mine that i want to get a permit for. there are some neighbors that watch every move i make and look for wrong doing to call and get me in trouble with the authorities. they even make things up to tell to the local county administrator. there are hunting dogs on the property owned by a friend of mine that the same neighbors hate and want something done with them. i have never had this problem of adjoining property owners picking around and stalking me to find me in the wrong in order to cause harm to my reputation and finances. A county board member and the administrator advised me to put up many mo trespassing signs. i plan on doing that and it is suspected that someone let the dogs out of their pens. Also one lady came on my property to the kennel and had remarks about the dogs to the owner. i cant deal with much more, though their not directly confronting me. my question is If i put signs up and someone trespasses what would happen? and are there any laws protecting the rights of landwowners from this sort of thing because it seems that they can tell me what to do on my own land.

Re: costly mistake

If you erect no trespassing signs on your property and your annoying(and apparently nosey) neighbors continue to come onto your property after having been previously warned not to, you can have them arrested.
