Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Virginia

Harrassment/Emotional distress

My spouse and I continue to receive emails and phonecalls from his ex with insults, threats, and derogatory comments. We have asked and told her in writing that we want no further contact from her in any way but to no avail. It is beginning to cause emotional and mental turmoil in our home. Is there any legal recourse we can take and if so what would that be. This has been going on now for almost a year.

Re: Harrassment/Emotional distress

Threats of death or serious bodily harm either to the recipient of such threats or to his or her family member(s)are crimes under the criminal code of the Commonwealth and should be reported to the appropriate law enforement agency (police or sheriff's department).

Harassing phones calls from whatever source should be reported to the local phone company for investigation and any followup action(s) which may be appropriate resulting from information acquired from such investigation.
