Legal Question in Employment Law in Virginia

I am an employee of a Local Government withing Virginia. I want to know if they have the right to question my secondary employment which does not interfer with my full time position? We are having to fill out secondary employment forms which are attached to performance appraisals and I fill it is none of their buisness what I do on my time off from work as long as it does not interfer with my full time job.

Yes, they have such right (in my opinion) since your employer may

have the need to evaluate whether this particular secondary employment

may in some way, shape, or form be having an adverse effect upon the

performance of your job with them. (In other words, it is not

entirely up to you to be making this kind of determination.)
