Legal Question in Employment Law in Virginia

I just quit due to owner harassing an employee and over stepping my bounds as store manager. I was also paid 430/week and not given any overtime and the hours were banked into vacation time. The owner is an idiot, he has no hand books or policy's or contracts. I don't believe he is operating by the FLSA in many ways in particular the overtime exemption policies. Was I overtime exempt? If not can I seek being paid time I worked for that I lost because it was hidden in vacation time.

Based upon the few facts provided, I can't say one way or the other

whether your store owner was properly complying with the U.S. Department

of Labor (DOL) rules concerning salaried employees and the payment of overtime and the requirements of the FLSA.

You may wish to file a complaint with Virginia Department of Labor & Industry (VDLI), Labor & Employment Div., Wage & Hour branch to

request an investigation of your claim(s).
