Legal Question in Employment Law in Virginia

I was recently let go from my job of 8 years because the owner said she could not afford my wages in Virginia. I was denied payment of my vacation time that I was eligible for as of January 1st. I know VA has no law on this but there is a company policy that states we are to receive vacation time and there is no policy stating we don't get it if we are laid off. What can I do?

The legal issue might be framed as to whether this company policy amounts to an enforceable

contract, but based upon these few facts and without actually having reviewed this written policy in

the company's handbook (assuming there is one) I couldn't offer

an opinion on this matter.
