Legal Question in Personal Injury in Virginia

Almost 2 years ago Mar. 15,08 I was involved in an accident, I was traveling north on main hyway with green light when saw truck not stopping coming out of parking lot, hit my brakes and tried to stop but t-boned side of his truck. The town officer did not write ither of us a ticket because the other driver claimed to have green light also. I had a passenger but he was not concidered a witness by the officer. Since then my passenger has had a lawyer reprecenting him for his injuries, I was told by this lawyer he would take my case as soon as his was settled. Now last month I was told to find another lawyer cause my passengers case wont be settled in time, now I am left in a heck of a mess with the 2 year mark so close and cant find a lawyer to take my case. All I have been told is my only option now is to file a claim myself with court before deadline so that when this is settled or goes to court I'm covered. I am at a lost as what to do and how.. Can you please give me some insight

without knowing more it is hard to know what to say. If you were injured, you must file a suit against the other driver within 2 years of the day of the accident; otherwise your claim will be barred by the statute of limitations. You can file on your own, at your own risk. If you dont name the right defendant you will loose your case. You should call a lawyer ASAP.
