Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Virginia

Month to month lease

I'm at the end of my year long lease, but the lease has a 30 day self-renewing clause. Also stated in the lease I must give a 60 day notice before i move out. I need to know if i still have to give a 60 day notice even if the lease is month to month.

Re: Month to month lease

Unless it's clear from the terms of the lease itself that at the end of 12 months, the year long lease is now being converted to a month to

month lease with a requirement of only 30 days

advance notice to the landlord of your intent to terminate, you would still be required to give the 60 days notice.
