my niece was given a car from her father in law.it was signed over with a gift form.can the father in law take the car back?He is threatening getting a lawyer

Gifts cannot be recovered. If your niece was allowed to use the car and there were conditions attached to her use, it may be that this car was not a gift. Of course, if she is sued, she should retain counsel for proper legal advice.
