A living will is better called "advance directive" and provides information to others as to what medical treatment you want or don't want in the event you become unable to communicate your wishes. It is often combined with a health care power of attorney to name someone to make health care decisions and arrangements for you. A living trust is simply a trust created while you are alive rather than in your will; they can be either revocable or irrevocable.
