Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Virginia

I am my mother executrix in her will. She left her estate including her house to my sister and myself equally. There were no provisions included should my sister or I pass away before her. My sister has just passed away. Does that mean that my mothers estate reverts to me totally?

If your mother was not living at the time of your sister's death, your your sister's estate will receive half. If your mother is still alive, the outcome will depend on the exact wording of the will if your sister had any children, (of course, the will can be changed if your mother still has the capacity to change the present will). If your sister did not have any children, it is certain that the entire estate will go to you.
