I asked several authors authority to reprint selected items several months ago. They have not replied

Then don't reprint.

If you haven't already done so, try approaching through the publishers and through their agents, if you can determine who they are.

However, until you get an affirmative response, do not reprint copyrighted material unless you come under one of the very limited "fair use" exceptions.
