Legal Question in Business Law in Washington

Wife involved with Boss

I recently found out that my wife was writing sexual text messages to her boss and he writing back to her. He was calling her late at night when she was home and calling her to take her out when i was not around the house. She said they have only hugged but that this took place at work. They have also exchanged emails back and forth with tag lines like ''Sweetie''. They have both said they love each other. He has also showered her with gifts like gift cards to buy new clothes. She recently was promoted when all this began. Does this constitute sexual harrassment in the work place? I would like to know if things don't work out with my wife that I have something to hang over this man's head.

Re: Wife involved with Boss

I'm so sorry to hear about your situation. This must be very difficult.

Unfortunately, claims of sexual harassment won't help you here.

First, for a claim of sexual harassment to stick, the attentions must be unwanted. From what you have written here, your wife has not objected.

Second, even if the attention is not wanted, only your wife can bring the claim. You cannot.
