i worked in an office and was taped audio without my knowledge for days. I had been speaking in my office alone with my coworker and was taped is this legal?

It may constitute a cause of action for invasion of privacy. Having said that, I would need to know a heck of a lot more information. One of the key issues will be whether you had a reasonable right to expect that such a conversation was to be private. Often, in the workplace, one's reasonable expectation of privacy is a lot less than you would imagine.

For example, if your employer reads all e-mail coming and going on your computer at work, that is generally permissible- after all, the employer would contend, you should only be using your work computer for work related communications.
