Legal Question in Criminal Law in Washington

''investigation''

i was charged with assualt 4dv the officers didn't look at any evidence i had nor would the look at my boyfriends hands and when i asked them at the police station to take pictures of my hands several differant times they wouldn't so what is a leagal investigation and if you asked them to look at evidence do they legally have to or can they go off one side the victom punched himself several times in the face after punching out my car mirror punching a 32oz coffee out of my hand while i was driving should they have at least checked out my side

Absolutely they should have checked out your side of the story. However, it is good for your case that they did not because on cross examination your attorney can make clear to the jury that they did not. Juries do not like sloppy police work.
