Liable suit during a criminal Invesigation
Can you hold a party liable for an alledged criminal act during said criminal investigation or will you have to wait until the criminal investigation is completed before a liable suit can be entered into. (alledged rape case/Suit against school for negligence).

If you are the victim, and I assume you are, you definitely want to wait until the criminal prosecution is completed before filing suit. Otherwise, the defendant in the criminal case will use it to argue that the civil suit is the reason behind the criminal charges. There may be some exceptions to this, there always are in the law, but this is usually the best course to follow.
