What is the statute of limitation for a case against a minor in possession of alcohol?

Re: Minor in possession statute of limitation

Under the state statute, MIP is a gross misdemeanor and may not be prosecuted more than 2 years after the violation.

Under some municipal codes, MIP is a misdemeanor and may not be prosecuted more than 1 year after the violation.

Look at the charging document, e.g. citation, to determine whether you are being charged under the state staute (RCW 66.44.270) or a municipal code.
