Legal Question in DUI Law in Washington

eleven year old dui case

in 1991 i was convicted of a dui, i have been through the out patient classes, twice ( which i did not complete all the way), in patient which i completed. been to the AA's, and also willingly put myself on antibuse. i have failed to show up for court twice, but always managed to be caught. over the years i have recieved 2 open container tickets. i pled quilty even though they were not mine. the court app. attorney told me to get ready for 7-9 months of jail time. i live 200 miles away from where it happened and wondered if i could reduce jail time in any way or possibly recieve home monitoring in my home town. i currently am out on bail of 2250 cash only and have to go to court in 30 days. what can i do to recieve the least amount of time. i am the sole provider for a family of 5.

Re: eleven year old dui case

Your court and offense history is not exactly first rate but you may be able to do something. Do you still have an appointed attorney? If so, I cannot answer this inquiry; instead, you will have to see your attorney. Whatever you do, it will require some intense case review and negotiation to keep you out of jail. You simply must stop drinking and driving, have no more open container violations and appear for court. This case is so old that the courts will normally try and close the case with jail time and fines. Good Luck!
