My boyfriend of 3 years is a level one sex offender can my son dad whose in prison take him from me if i move in with my current boyfriend. he was convicted at age 12 he is 27 now

I would suggest you do it in an arranged manner, following a protective process--not just for the father but also for others who might give you trouble. DO NOT move in together until the process is done.

1. If he can have it expunged, do so. (I'm not sure it's possible, but I do not know.)

2. If he is still required to report, have that removed.

3. Your process:

a. Have him seen by his original sexual offender counselor, and ask them to write a report as to his risk. (If that counselor is not available, find one who does the same kind of work.)

b. You find some literature, if available, on how to protect you children from sexual abuse.

c. You develop a safety plan in writing.

d. You might also contact the CPS once you have the other things done and ask if they could advise you on anything else.

The above are only ideas--there is no official process. Ask yourself what you wish you would have already had if the CPS or your ex takes your kids.
