Legal Question in Family Law in Washington

revision to alimony

My ex-wife and I have a verbal agreement to reduce (due to the economic changes in our economy) the amount of alimony that I am paying to her and I would like to know is a notorized staatement signed by both parties enough to keep her from being able to legally come back later?
