Legal Question in Family Law in Washington

My sons stepmom (lives in Georgia with my son) would like temporary guardianship of my 7 year old. His father just went to jail and I am dealing with my own legal issues and will be doing 5 months in either home detention or work release. I don't know if I should sign this form because I am afraid that it will make it a lot harder to get him back after my court stuff is resolved. She currently has no legal rights to keep him and I am hoping I could get him up here and give my parents temporary custody but I am not sure if that is even possible (if I do get home detention)

Some of the facts are not clear, like where your son is now and how long he has not been in WA. It would appear he is in Georgia. But the bottom line is that if you are his legal custodian, and you feel it would be safer for him to be in WA, then go ahead and get him back here (assuming she will not try to hold him). If he is in GA and has been there for more than 6 months, however, and she is aware of the law (google UCCJEA) and wants to push the matter, you would probably have to litigate custody in GA.
