Legal Question in Sexual Harassment in Washington

Statutory Rape Laws

What are the laws in Washington State concerning statutory rape? Like, what are the age restrictions and restrictions on sexual activities? In the case of statutory rape, can a third party report it? Thank you.

Re: Statutory Rape Laws

You can look at them on line under "rape of a child" and "sexual misconduct with a minor" at http://www.leg.wa.gov/RCW/index.cfm?fuseaction=chapterdigest&chapter=9A.44

That's RCW Chapter 9A.44.

Basically, the younger the child (and greater difference in age) the more serious is the crime. I assume some facts because you are asking in the employment law bulletin board: If the person you're talking about is a child under 18, who is seduced by her superior at work where the superior is five or more years older, that's a crime in Washington. You could call the police, or a sexual harassment lawyer, or both.

I am sorry to hear of this misfortune and wish your family a speedy recovery.
