Legal Question in Traffic Law in Washington

I received a speeding ticket in Kennewick WA. Upon turning left, even with the visor down, the sun wa directly in my view, as it was nearing sunset. Because of this, the sun obscured my view of any posted speed limit sign. I noticed a police car on my right after I passed him and saw in the rear view mirror his lights on the car. Again, due to the sun, I could neither see clearly a speed limit sign nor discern clearly the car on the left was a police car until after passing him. Due to this, how does that enter into a defense of this ticket?

Standard would probably be to give that spiel and agree to a defective equipment plea.
