Legal Question in Business Law in West Virginia

Getting out of a non compete clause

When I was hired by my current employer there was not a non compete clause. A week after I started the job I and another employee were told that if we did not sign that our jobs would be posted. I signed the contract 7 years ago. I was in an accident a year ago and was not allowed to return to work for 2 months even though the doctor said I could. I returned to work and have been there since. I am thinking of leaving to go to another place in the same town. Would the fact that they did not let me return to work when I was physically able void the non compete since it prevented me from doing my job. Also, there have been multiple changes in benefits and was told I would have a company car which has been taken away.
