Legal Question in Employment Law in West Virginia

My Doctors Say Quit!

My medical doctor and my therapist are telling me to "get out" of the hostile setting in which I work.I work in a juvenile correction facility for a man who is a serial bully.I have been harassed, assulted, discriminated against and I am worn down.Over 60% of the staff here has quit or taken early retirement in the last 6 months. The boss's behavior will get me or one of my remaining coworkers injured or killed by inmates,or my physical or mental health will break down completely. I could take some time off but I know I'd never be able to make myself go back to work.I have worked here ten years under steadily worsening conditions, I have seven years before I can retire and I need my job.Yes I am over 40 and I am a female, but this intentional torture is based as much on cruelty, preying on others, abuse of power than on age and/or gender. Any Ideas?

Re: My Doctors Say Quit!

When a medical professional says quit, you get

a second opinion. You did. Two of them say quit.

QUIT. THEN see a lawyer. We like to work for the

living. They make better witnesses.

Seriously, if you don't listen to a medical

professional who says it is hazardous to your

health and well being to work there, what sort of

credemce will you give to any legal advice?

You will also be in better mental and physical

shape to take them on under the law. It is hard work and emotionally draining.
