Legal Question in Consumer Law in Wisconsin

Yahoo closed all my services

i had made extensive use of yahoos email services for several years and originally paid for this service. I had many important business ciommunications located in that emial account. after i reported a successful identifty theft attack which compromised my account there. i notified them according to their own rules that this had occurred, They acted by locking the account, and then rfusing to allow me access to my own records. I feel that because i acted in accordance with their written policies I had my account closed. I feel that this is discrimmination and in the case of my records theft.I feel that they run a worldwide service but lack any basic methods of pursuing and or combating these attacks. That they in fact allow this behavior by lack of proper facilities to report this conduct as it happens. I feel they want the money but do not want to provies the services needed.

I know from working with my other clients that these types of account hijacking are relatively common and very costly in time and money to investigate and combat beyond simple damage control. Free services are by definition limited in the scope of recourse a customer will have in this type of situation. You are always well advised to not store your messages with a free service and to keep several backups. Many email clients allow you to pull down your messages so you can store them on your own harddrive. You can also pay for storage of your online messages.
