Legal Question in Insurance Law in Wisconsin

My vehicle was involved in a car/deer accident. Thankfully, no one was injured. My insurance company wants to total out the car, which I can understand. But, the insurance company is only offering me one-third of the value of the car. What can I do to get a fair settlement from the insurance company?

If you are not happy with the offer, you can sue and recover whatever amount you prove in court and is awarded to you by the Judge or the jury, although your insurer might also opt to enforce an arbitration clause, if one is present in your insurance contract. The policy might also contain certain prerequisites which might need to be exhausted before suing, so have your lawyer review it first. Short of that, qualified appraisals of the vehicle might yield a better offer, if they are credible, as might other evidence of pricing for comparable vehicles on dealer lots or for sale in classified adds in your locality. Receipts for recent improvements to the vehicle might also help.
