Legal Question in Employment Law in Wisconsin

Gender Discrimination

I work in a retail environment and have a male manager who holds the same position. we both got our annual appraisals and I got an Exceeds expectations on mine and he got a meets expectations on his appraisal yet his raise was higher than mine and he is now making more than i do not by alot but for me to have a better appraisal than his this just doesn't make sense to me and i feel offended by this that because i am a woman affected my pay rate? I don't know maybe this is what you get when you exceed so should i do less and get a meets expectations next time to get a better raise? Doesn't make sense to me except the fact that it seems as if i am being discriminated because of my sex

Re: Gender Discrimination

It sounds like you may have a claim for a violation of the Equal Pay Act.
