Legal Question in Employment Law in Wisconsin

Working of Overtime

Is it legal for a firm to tell you to go home after working 40 hours just to avoid paying you time and half? Or if you have worked over 40 hours to tell you to leave to avoid paying you time and half.

You must be paid for woking over 40 hours, except for limited reasons. An employer can direct you to cease work so it does not have to pay you overtime.
