Legal Question in Sexual Harassment in Wisconsin

Harassed?

A woman has made nothing but deragatory statments towards me since my arrival at this client site. I am a consultant, she an employee. Several weeks ago she tugged on my beard to make a point, I , in front of witnesses, told her that she was not to touch me again. I spoke to her mananger who told me he would handle it. ( I do not beleive this occurred) This week after another insult she rubbed my shoulder and grabbed my neck. I'm considering filing a harassment case. I get a headache from the stress just walking in the front door of the office building. Thoughts?

Re: Harassed?

What you describe is not quid pro quo harassment but hostile environment s-h. However, because you are not an employee of the company,

different standards and law applies.

Are you a "consultant" or an "independent contractor"? Are you on site daily or occasionally?

The company would still have a duty to provide an environment free of s-h. If you are "forced" to give up your advantageous business relationship, that it something else you could sue on.

Just some thoughts,
